How common is ADHD in
India?
Globally, ADHD affects approximately 7.1% of children and
teenagers. This means that, on average, about 1 in every 14
children is affected by ADHD worldwide.
In India, primary school children have a prevalence of
11.32%. This means approximately 1 in every 9 children may
have ADHD.
ADHD is most frequently diagnosed in children aged 9 and
10 years, with a higher incidence among boys than girls.
