Why does my child have ADHD?
Many studies suggest a combination of factors, including genetics and environmental
influences.
Parenting style, school experiences, and childhood events can impact how genetic
traits are expressed.
Difficult pregnancies, premature births, and challenging labor can increase the
chances of a child developing ADHD. Additionally, brain injuries, such as those from
seizures or epilepsy, can activate the genetic potential for ADHD.
A part of the brain (frontal lobe) develops slower in these children as compared to
other children of similar age and intelligence.
This part is responsible for concentration, planning, remembering, staying calm etc.
Because of which one may have difficulties in the functions regulated by this part of
the brain.
