dc.description.abstract This purposive one shot cross sectional sample survey uses a standardized Emotional Intelligence Scale to elicit responses from 687 police persons spread across 17 police stations in and around Mysore, Karnataka, based on various organismic and socio-demographic variables. Results in terms of the profile of overall Emotional Intelligence Scores and in relation to various socio-demographic variables, domain analysis, and, item analysis are presented and discussed with implications for their training in identified deficit areas or domains in order to optimize their resources for the benefit of police workforce as well as society at large
