dc.description.abstract The study was carried with the aim of semantic operations in persons with Broca’s aphasia. Two tasks tapping semantic operations were used. In the first task, the participants were asked to categorize lexical items into big and small based on its original size. In the second task, the participants were asked to associate or semantically relate a picture with a word presented as a closed choice of four options. The participants could perform well on both the tasks. There was no statistically significant difference between the performances on the two tasks. The results show that word knowledge required for tapping the word knowledge is intact in persons with Broca’s aphasia.
